Directions

Car
From the north: Take Lake Shore Drive to the 57th Street exit (Museum of Science and Industry). Drive four blocks west to Stony Island Avenue, then south to 59th Street, then two blocks west.

From the south: Take I94 to exit 58A toward 59th St. Merge onto Wentworth Ave. Turn right onto W 59th St. Turn right onto S King Dr. Turn left onto E Best?? Dr. Continue onto Midway Plaisance. Turn left onto S Dorchester Ave. Turn right onto E 59th St.

Train
Metra (Illinois Central) trains board at Randolph St. & Michigan Ave, and at Van Buren St. & Michigan Ave. Exit at 59th St. and walk two blocks west. Click here for Metra’s schedules.

Bus
CTA # 6 bus boards starting State St. &  (E/W) Wacker Dr. Bus runs on State St., turning east to Lake Shore Dr. at Harrison St. It runs express to Hyde Park. Exit at 59th St. and walk three blocks west. (Concerts are Sunday afternoon: not rush hour)

Parking

There is plenty of free street parking available along the Midway, and on Blackstone and Dorchester Aves.

COVID-19
Convenings are open to all invitees who are compliant with UChicago vaccination requirements and, because of ongoing health risks, particularly to the unvaccinated, participants are expected to adopt the risk mitigation measures (social distancing, etc.) appropriate to their vaccination status as advised by public health officials or to their individual vulnerabilities as advised by a medical professional. Public convening may not be safe for all and carries a risk for contracting COVID-19, particularly for those unvaccinated. Participants will not know the vaccination status of others and should follow appropriate risk mitigation measures. We are complying with all University guidelines on the Go Forward website and, at this time, masks are required to be worn by unvaccinated and vaccinated attendees inside International House.
